What wine with this tropical treat?

There is a tropical food from the Amazon that would seem to need a wine with it. I am guessing a Sauvignon Blanc might work. But since the food might be served as a starter, a chilled tropical spirit such as Mezcal might be better. Since I do not know the exact name of this food, I have a link at

that shows it being eaten in very close up detail. This is a high resolution flv/swf file and requires a high speed connection to load fast. A status bar on the player shows how fast it is loading, and you can start anytime you wish. If the playback can not keep up with the download, then there will be a pause for more download.

Hmm, I'd sautee with lots of garlic, and then think Burgundy. Escargots, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
