Purchasing a wine cellar

Hi there,

I recently came back from a scouting trip of southern France with a trunkload of decent wine and found the conditions of my rooftop appartment in Prague rather unsitable for long time storage. Hence, I'm thinking of purchasing a wine cellar.

What I'm looking for is long time storage to prevent ageing and decline, not cooling the wine to the right temperature for serving. Different temperature levels are not of interest to me, the possibility to control temperature/humidity in the long run is. I currently need to store about 60 bottles, but the demand might go up in a year or so.

I'd like to stay bellow $1,000 purchase price. Also, I realize the product set available in Europe differs from that available in the U.S.

Any suggestions?

Cheers, Ondrej

I am satisfied with a Liebherr WKr4700 that holds about 250 bottles. Price of mine was below 1000 euros 4 years ago. It is quite similar to this one:
