Puzzling wine producing area in world map?

Please take a look at this world map (from England's Berry Bros. & Rudd) of wine producing areas:

There is a spot south (below the 30th latitude) and east of California that seems a bit puzzling. It looks to be in inland Mexico.

I know Mexico's Baja California produces wine, and is duly noted on the map, however, I was not aware of there being a wine producing area inland.

Wondering whether that spot is a cartographic error.

BBR include spirits in wine production. Note the inclusion of Scotland in wine producing areas of Europe!!!!!

As David says, this could be Jalisco (Tequila/Mezcal) or Oaxaca (Pulque), neither of which is wine IMO.

Indeed, there is wine grown in inland Mexico, I believe around Queretaro and some other areas NW of Mexico City. Of course, Baja California is the more famous area.
