Back in 1991, I had the 1981 vintage on two different occasions. Not a great Pomerol, but a very enjoyable wine that had stood the test of time. La Violette seems to be a kind of a dark horse in Pomerol, but you can find it occasionally in (larger) supermarkets and on wine lists in this part of the world (Luxembourg + neighbouring countries).
