I think it was a kid from Des Moines, named Fat Eddie, who was overcome by smoke while Bar-B- Q'ing his neighbor Stan's hiking boots. He fell face first into the grill and was overcome by flames and the deadly fumes of burning shoe laces. Sad, very sad. He was only 11 years old.
He was. however, indirectly responsible for the massive nanny movement to ban all backyard shoe Bar-B-Q'ing.
