What do you think about their regular Cab? It's got so much "game" for lack of a better word, going on...huge tannins, dense, inky, chewy, structure. Got it for about $17 bucks a bottle, not bad. I don't think I could ever get tired of this as an "everyday" drinking red.
Although we say that every year is a good vintage in California, there are better and lesser degrees of "good".
For example, I recently tried the 2002 Mondavi "Oakville" Cabernet (which is a step up from their Napa Valley bottling) and found it wasn't up to snuff compared to their 2001 version, which was more "dusty" and intense than their 2002. Retail at Costco was ~$27US for each.

I thing Mondavi is an excellent every day drinking Cab.
I have been buying Oberon which is Tim Mondavi's personal company I am told. After completing the sale to Constellation Tim I understood purhased the pressed grape juice from Opus One, Tokolon vineyards and the areas that the reserve wines come from. All 2001 grapes.
He then marketed them and the local retail price in North Carolina by the case was $17.99 bottle. I bought a case and its very good everyday wine. Granted its not free run juice but very good for the money.
Has anyone else tried this?
