sending wines to Canada by mail

Aug 03, 2004 1 Replies

I've recently send a bottle of wine to Canada (from Europe) by post.

It never got there.

It may be that the canadian post are prohibiting any alcohol from entering the country by post. I erase two questions:

1 - Is that the case? And if so why?
2 - How do they known whats is the package. It was just a small box with no indication outside that it was a bottle. Do they open every box?
3 - If that is the case how can that problem be dealt with? Is there any special condition under which a bottle can be sent by post?

Is there anyone who can help me? Anyone knows anyone in the canadian post?

Thanks a lot Ricardo
