Suggestion for a cheap good really sweet non-bitter red wine?

Ok, I'm not a wine lover by any means but for my wedding we were given a wine by a friend that was rather sweet red and non-bitter. Now I know your like just ask them, they don't remember and at the time were living with a wine store manager but no longer are. All I remember is the bottle was green with gold lettering and have no idea what it cost since it was a gift. I asked my wife to save the bottle but it was thrown out while I was on a business trip. Can someone please help me out here I really liked it and would like a suggestion for a cheaper wine. Now remember I don't really like 95% of the wines out there because they are bitter ...strange but true and I have tried quite a few different kinds and just don't really like them.

Thanks

I think your best if you want the identical bottle of wine is to locate the wine store manager; yours is an impossible task otherwise.

lists sweet red wines, however, to my taste, none of them are sweet, except port.

When we lived in Italy for a short time, we used to go to a very relaxed little restaurant. They soon found out I didn't like red wine as I found it not to my taste. They brought me a jug of foaming red wine, I tasted it and I loved it, slightly sweet and not at all bitter. Anyway to cut a long story short that was Lambrusco and it can be bought cheaply anywhere. My tastes have moved on a bit in 30 odd years and I don't drink it now but I found Lambrusco to be acceptable to my palate at that time in my very young life especially with Italian food.

I hope that helps you a little.
