TN: 03 Bricco dell' Uccellone Barbera d'Asti

Although Barbera d'Asti's image has not always been very good (I guess beacuse of not-so-everyone's acidity, but that's only my humble opinion) I really cannot say that this wine matches this old cliché. This is modern, fresh wine, although its roots cannot (and should not) be denied. The color is pure ruby with dark relections. The nose is complex mixture of red berries, fine herbs, chocolate, maybe hint of vanilla. Very smooth and well balanced palate. Finish is fairly long, with typical Barbera acidity. As I said, modern and yet traditional....amazing wine. I had it with mushroom stew with bread dumplings - would also go well with some mediterrainian meals with rosemary.
