Tonight, with a takeout meal of BBQ ribs, Jean asked for a "light and fruity red." Consulting the database revealed that one of the better candidates was the title wine, so I went and brought it up:
2001 Torii Mor Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vyd nose: initially, a bit sappy, with bright cherry fruit, later turning a bit smoky with a mineral note palate: medium body, good acidity, tart cherries, smoke, clean finishA pretty good match with the ribs, this wine was pretty much what Jean was looking for. Although the Seven Springs Vyd is better known for the St. Innocent wines made from it, Torii Mor was also getting some of its fruit, at least at the time of our visit there in '03. This wine could probably go another 4-5 years, but it's also drinking quite well now.
