Consumed tonight with a dinner of BBQ ribs (slow smoked, Dale):
2001 Turley Paso Robles Pesenti Vyd Zinfandel (15.3% ABV) nose: very high toned, tart berry fruit, cedar, VA? palate: quite acidic, medium-full body, tons of cedar, berries, finishes on acidityCertainly a decent BBQ wine, it didn't live up to the image of Turley Zins as thick, (over)extracted monsters. It was recognizable Zin, but still a mile away from anything that Ridge produces. In many ways, it reminded me more of Cline's Zins than anyone else's.
