TN: 2005 Hirtzberger GV

Betsy made grilled pork tenderloin with a pinto/corn/cilantro salsa and spinach, wine was the 2005 Hirtzberger "Rotes Tor" Gruner Veltliner Federspiel. Lovely GV, full bodied for Federspiel, holds up well to the pork. Apples and yellow plums, a little peppery note, wet rocks on the finish. Balanced acidity, good length. Drinking very nicely right now. B+/A-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
