TN: 86 Mont Redon CdP

I'm not sure how this wine was acquired as we are not clients of Mont Redon. We visited the domaine around 20 years ago, where there used to be an extensive collection of library wines available, but I found the style had changed from that which I had known previously.

Anyway, this was surprisingly brickish for a CdP, with a nice dark cherry nose. I decanted it off of alot of very fine sediment. Lacking some stuffing in the mouth, tannins completely resolved, but with a fine black cherry and spice core. A tad short, probably would have been better a couple of years ago (although holding well enough with a good cork and level). With venison stew. B+
