TN: 98 Biondi Santi Il Greppo Brunello di Montalcino

A very good friend of mine brought me a case of this magnificent wine some weeks ago. Since I don't eat meat, I waited for some nice powerful fish dish to use this nice Brunello. Last week I had it! Nice fat grilled tuna steaks in juniperberry, red wine and wild mushrooms sauce, grilled polenta and raddichio trevigiano salad made with old balsamico. And, I was right about pairing! Deep ruby and granat. Nose is very complex mixture of wild berries, cherry, blackberry jam. Palate is very intense - blueberries, cinnamon notes, vanilla, round and well balanced. Spicy, long finish, like after eating dark jam. Impressive! Would probably go well with grilled red meat and some powerful sauces.
