Indian takeout (palak paneer, goat biryani, chicken barjama tikka, chana masala, mango chutney) The 2017 Koehler-Ruprecht Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Spatlese Trocken). Dry but not austere, pear accented with ginger and honey, tangy green apple finish. B+

With assorted sashimi, the 2017 Pepiere Briords shows quite well. Saline, citrus blossoms, long rocky finish with a hint of smoke. Yum. B++

By myself with leftover short ribs and vegetables, the 2006 Gouges Nuits St Georges. Supposedly in last couple decades Gouges is more approachable, but this is tannic and seriously old school. There?s a nice wine underneath with black cherry, herbs, and damp soil notes, but this isn?t giving much pleasure now. Give it 10 years, but this was my last. B-/C+ for now.

HMart chicken, banchan, rice, baby Chinese mustard greens, and the 2014 Enderle and Moll Liaison Pinot Noir. Drinking nicely, tart and tangy, quite herby. B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
