Well the cases arrived and we thought, let's try them.
Morgon, Domaine de la Chaponne, Cuvee Joseph. A gamay sparkle in the glass, like cherryade. A nose of fruit and ? cassis, comlex for a gamay, hints of claretland. Fruity entrance but fell short, austere, my wife said mean. But long. So where from here, will it soften?
Moulin a Vent, Jacky Janodet,,,,,,,,,,13.5% alc!! Bloody hell said mrs just on pouring, bugger me says I, qv other thread. Almost port like, tremendous depth, huge legs, bugger me says I again. A complex Gamay nose (0xymoron?), almost like a Grand Cru Pinot. Palate just fruit and tannin?????, wonderful, so long. Nectar I shall attempt to buy more tomorrow at £8 a bottle. Reminds me of the 76 Moulin a Vent
