Hello all, I am still about!

Have been off line on and off, holidays, motherboards, external hard drive failure, minor illness and visits to see awaited G'child number one down in deepest Sussex. If any of you want a place to stay in Sussex, we have found it. A barn conversion in the village of Burwash, slleps three and dog. ( No, I am not on commission).

North Slope Russian River 2005, pale green tinge, weight, inyour face chard, oak and butter, marzipan, great balance succulent, slightly bitter finish, Oregon or Catena?

Meursault Les Tillets V Giradin 2002, stunning looker, yet dumb nose and on palate, almost flat, no premox, just a non burg...odd

Chambolle Musigny G Roumier 2002, depth and hint of purple, complex sweet cabbage, berry spice, wonderful balance of fruit and acidity, cherries, long, excellent

N St G, Clos de Argilliers, P Rion 2002,, depth with some age, chemical pinot, truffles, red currant, berry fruit and hint of chap, very bitter finish......poor New World!!

N St G Vielles Vignes, P Rion 2002, some age, bright, complex classy minty, marshmallow, all in balance berries and spice, lomg.......excellent

Lemelson Stermer Vineyard 2002, Oregon. clean and bright, hint of age, a superb gamey hot, vegetal nose with hints of some liquorice, big wine alc++, but balanced with ripe berry fruit, refreshing tannins, superb. Too big and balanced to be French!!!

Gevrey Chambertin D Mortet, 2002. Huge depth and extract, layers of spice on nose, almost a claret, peppermint, leather cassis, an alcoholic fruity wine thats entrance hits your hard palate and bounces around, giving hints of different aspects of fruit and spice....superb

N St Georges, Clos des Porrets St George, H Gouges 2002 Bright depth++, a really closed down wine, strawberries just and a hinto farmyard, massive spice berry fruit with huge tannins, will be magnificent, try 5 years.

From a tasting of cheapo non descript wines with a couple of goodies.

Coutet 2001, a beautiful deep gold sparkles, yoyoyo, the muts nuts, toffee and lots of bot, marmalade, a mouthful of liquid barley sugar yet acidity to balance, long with some bitterness. now starting to fade, wonderful. Nailed by yours truly.

Angludet 1982, depth with only hint of age. A nose to put in your olfactory memory as pure Margaux, armpits, leather cassis complex, opening up by the minute. All in perfect balance, fruit and tobacco, cinnamom long......perfect. I thought a classed growth Margaux 1990

Which is why I'm still holding my '89 and '90 Prulier, Porrets and Les St Georges.
