TN El Chaparral de Vega Sindoa

old vines Garnacha Navarra 2008. That is a mouthful!

We had this very pleasant wine last night it was $11.99USD and worth every penny.

What I found most interesting was the nose. Cloves then in the mouth a very spicy but not to the point of overdoing it mouth with nice body and enough acidity to deal nicely wiwth the ground sirloin.

All in all a buy more of this approval rating from the wife.

Along the same lines toinght was the Santa Julia organic Chard from Mendoza @$8.99US for a clean fresh chard with a bit of richness. Prizes ? No, buy more YES Joseph Coulter Joseph Coulter Cruises and Vacations

I love Nekeas "El Chaparral de Vega Sindoa". But it is so difficult to find in Spain! I have really good memories of the 2005 version, which was very low in color, and very sensual, with that spicy notes that you mention, but not the kind of overripeness usually found in many Spanish red Grenache wines.

2006, which I tasted a few months ago, was a bit more dark. How was the 2008? 2005 was more like a Rayas in colour (low) than like a Domaine de la Janasse (dark!).

We need more wines like this El Chaparral in our country.
