TN: Gewurz from Idaho

Yes, Idaho! The PA state stores are carrying wine from the state known for Russet, not Rousanne. At $7.99, I decided, "what the hell?"

05 Ste. Chapelle Dry Gewurztraminer Idaho - pale yellow in the glass, bouquet and flavors of lemon, lime and peach; not much of the white pepper spiciness typical of this varietal but a pleasant enough, off-dry wine with a slight tingle on the tongue.

Dan-O (wonder if this would work with fries?) 8-)

St Chapelle also makes a riesling that is quite good. In all fairness caldwell Id is not much of a potato growing area, they are better known for fruit.

Dan,

Do you remember the PLCB number on that wine? We can always use an oddball wine at the school. There is no reason why the Idaho winemaking region near WA (Snake river, if I remember correctly) cannot begin to produce high-end wines, either.

Hi I'm also from PA and recently tried this one. Not bad for $8. I didn't like their riesling though.
