TN: Really good Beaujolais, ok red Rhone and white Burg

With grilled tuna steak , roasted peppers, quinoa, dal, & salad, the 2016 Pavillon de Chavannes“Cuvee des Ambassades”-Cote de Brouill y. Looks like the embassies will be drinking well this year. Crunchy red fr uit (cranberry/raspberry), citrus zest, rocks. Balanced acids, some tannin, good finish, B+

Broccoli quiche, roasted kohlrabi/daikon, sauteed tatsoi

2015 Jadot Coteaux Bourguignons Blanc This is the old Grande Ordinaire, in this case 60% Chard/40% Aligote. Sweet Bosc pear, honied note, could use more acidity, clean. Pretty boring but I bought as a cellar defender cooking wine, so ok with it. B-/C+

Friday was fridge cleanup- chicken sausage, leftover roasted veggies, lefto ver cauliflower soup, salad. Getting up at 3 AM for (supposed) first flight out of Newark, wanted inexpensive as opening a bottle for one or two glass es. The 2016 Barou “Cuvee des Vernes” Syrah ( VdP Collines Rhodaniennes) was straightforward fruit forward Syrah- sweet red fruit, hin t of herbs, more sweet fruit, OK, but I should just spend a little more for Barou’s St Jo. B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a p arty where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivi ty, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
