[TN] SAvigny-Peuillets Premier Cru 1996 (Ch de Meursault)

[C] Fairly light color, as expected [N] Animal nose, leather, meat, roast [P] Very satisfying and concentrated cherries and cherry pits, mature, chewy tannines, pleasantly and refreshingly acidic.

Chateau de Meursault is a bit of a tourist trap, albeit an impressive one. This wine (which of course did not come from anywhere near Meursault) was definitely the real thing, and a wonderful accompaniment with roast duck and cassoulet of Jerusalem artichokes. I don´t remember the price but I do believe it was less than EU 20.

Cheers
