Trader Joe's / "Table" Wines

Greets,

I am interested in learning more about wines. I enjoy red wines, merlot, syrah and especially cab. I've limited myself to a few of the less expensive wines, such as Charles Shaw (not as good to me as some enthusiasts suggest but I have mostly bought the cab-should try the merlot again), Emeril, a few others. I'm interested in wines that are locally available and less than $10 / bottle.

I don't have a very developed wine palate. I just know when I like it.

Are there any sites or recommendations for some good wines that are in this price range? I have tried some more expensive bottles (names escape me) that weren't as good as an average bottle of Two Buck Chuck.

I don't have any particular preference. I love to cook, so if you have a recommendation that goes particularly well with a certain cuisine, I'm game.

Thanks for suggestions, Matt

These are cheap and pleasant: Woodbridge Cabernet or Zinfandel(red NOT white) Glen Ellen Cabernet Avia Riesling
