Well bless your little pointy head!
I have always found it much better to formulate my own opinions about wines after tasting them, but some people slavishly follow the number game by basing their whole wine buying and tasting experience on the opinions of someone else, presumably a higher form of life with superior sensory faculties.
To each his own. Whenever I see tastings arranged around how many points a wine may have been given, I just laugh. I've seen white Burgs cheek by jowl with California cabs etc., all because of the high scores they got.
At least your tasting, if that's what it is, has a relatively narrow scope.
