Wedding anniversary wine

Paris is lovely at that time of the year, especially Le Jardin du Luxembourg. You must walk down the Bouvelvard St. Michele, the Sorbonne is en route as is the Deux Magots where Oscar Wild used to sip and write, Notre Dame is at the bottom and the Isle. The Quartier Latin is jusr opposite the Sorbonne and you can wander through lovely old streets and listen to music coming out of St. Severin, cafes and restaurants abound and these are not posh restaurants but real food. Try Rue de Montagne St. Genveiere which is just opposite the Sorbonne up a side street, 2 good bistros there, you can't miss them. There also Lachette Cemetary where all the greats are buried, mostly above ground, except for Jim Morrison and Edit Piaf. All the clasical composers whose mudic I cut my teeth on are buried there. Maria Callas was there, but her ashes have now been taken to her home town.

Beaune is wonderful for wine, book ahead and you can have an organised tour, with lunch, around Bouchard Pere et Fils, I was almost comatose before lunch.

Nice, well what can I say, pop into the Negresco for a drink, it's on the promenade des Anglais. Loads of great restaurants just off the Marche de Fleurs and the Med is absolutely blue, I wish I was coming on your holiday!!!
