[TN] Wedding anniversary

Xina and lindgren one found they were about to have been married 22 ys (sorry bout the mixed tempi) and decided to go for an over-nighter in a place you´ve never heard of, Tomarps Gård, near a town you´ve never heard of , Kristianstad (and, let me tell you, you are glad never having to have spent a night in Kristianstad) to take the airs, eat a good supper, and, the day after, hike on horse-back which was to be a defintie first ion the part of lindgren one. The farm-hotel has a good kitchen and a comprehensive cellar. On offer with the 4-course supper (the only choice available) was a wine menu with four flights; we saw fit to enter a fifth with the cheeses which were otherwise unaccompanied, the Chablis not being an ideal choice with Epoisse, mature goat´s cheese, and Rouquefort. Aperitif was Cha,pagne De Venoge Brut (no vintage) [N] Ample, apples, bread, dried figs [P] Fresh acidity without aggressivity, small bitterness. With duck´s liver terrine was server Gewurztraminer GC Furstentum 1999 Paul Blanc [N] Roses, slightly animal notes, perfumed, honey [P] Coco, acidity (more than usually expected from a Gwz), rosemary Main course angler fish on an onion risotto with sweetbread and lobster coulis Accompanied by Chablis Dom des Malandes 2001 Vieilles Vignes [N] Nuts, butter, grass, mineral, gooseberries (my first impression was of an overweight Sancerre) [P] Concentration!!! Mineral, light, refreshing acidity, beech nuts (sorry, but it _did_ taste like beech nuts), fresh herbs, ending on a liquorice note. With the cheeses we chose a Gewurztraminer Klur VT 2000 - we have had a Riesling from Klur when we lunched at L´Homme Sauvage in Turckheim - great wine, great resto, heartily recommended. [N] Attar of roses [P] Candied roses, honey, lovely concentration "Divinely decadent" 1)

Ended with the least satisfying wine of the evening - 2001 Moscato d´Asti Santo Stefano [N] Old apples, passion fruit, pineapple [P] Neutral, acvidity, sweetness, green apples

Excepting the Gwz VT, the wine menu was SEK 325 - c. EU 35-36, which, by Swedish standards, I consider a good buy on a restaurant. Of the wines on offer, I´d like to have a case of the Chablis, and a couple of the Gwz GC which I would let sit in my celler for two years or so. I think that Gwz will develop somewhat over the next couple of years, considering the acidity, and also, Paul Blanc´s art.

Cheers!

Nils Gustaf

Congratulations on your anniversary, and thanks for the notes. The Paul Blanck and the Santo Stefano Moscato (agree- dull) are the only ones we get here. Very interesting the gooseberries in the Chablis! Dale
