Here are tasting notes from Wine Spectator (please hold your disdain if you dislike this publication):
M. Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Lewelling Vineyard RSVP 2000 Score: 83 Chocolate, plum, fresh herb and toasty oak flavors have crisp acidity and modest tannin. Drink now through 2006. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 500 cases made.
Merryvale Wine: Merlot Napa Valley Reserve 1999 Score: 88 Smooth in texture, with polished currant, earth, cedar, tobacco and mocha flavors that are intense and well-focused, firming on the finish. Best to cellar short-term. Drink now through 2006. 6,200 cases made. (JL)
