500ml bottles

Are you looking for 500 ml in particular or "splits" which are available in 375 ml (and 187 ml).

those are readily available and not hard to find

I have bought them from Defalco's in Houston. Of course I live in Houston. They were a little expensive but they are a nice size for a port or sherry type wine.

If you're ok with beer bottles, 500ml is a common size in Europe, so most bottled beer imports should work. You'd need a capper, but caps are cheaper than good corks, so over time it's a good investment - and no issues with TCA.
