I've been reluctant to do bench fining trials up to this point, mainly because most of my batches are exactly 6 gals in a carboy, so there is no leftover wine for the trial. So my question is - what's the best procedure in such a situation, assuming I want to limit the amount of racking to the minimum?
I do have a 5 gal carboy and lots of smaller bottles with airlocks. The wine that needs to be fined at this point is a kit Chardonnay, about 9 months old, which already went through bentonite fining.
