Free SO2 Measurement

As I live in Bangkok, Thailand, I do not have access to all of the various test chemicals used in measuring wine parameters.

I am trying to measure free SO2 using the test shown in Lum Eisenman's The Home Winemakers Manual however this test calls for 0.01N Iodine solution and I cannot locate this strength solution here. What I do find is 0.1N solution.

The formula given for calculating free SO2 is Free SO2 = Volume of Iodine X 3200 X Normality of Iodine and using the 0.1N solution makes it almost impossible to make accurate measurements due to the small amounts of Iodine required.

My question (I am not a chemist) is it possible for me to dilute the

0.1N solution to a 0.01 solution by the addition of either distilled water, or other chemical, in order to obtain a 0.01N solution?

Yes. Use distilled water. 1 part 0.1N iodine and 9 parts water.
