I have been using a basic acid test kit with syringe.
I have seen advanced kits titration based kits.
Do I need this?
Can't I just by the equipment from a lab? Anyone have a source for this?
thanks

You don't have to upgrade, the kits are accurate enough so that using different glassware won;t help all that much. Most of the time if the kits are wrong it is because 1) the sodium hydroxide solution is old and has absorbed CO2 from the air making a bicarbonate buffer or 2) people do not titrate to the proper endpoint....phenylpthalien endpoints are difficult to get right....really you just want the faintest pink color. The easiest upgrade you can get is using a pH meter to find the endpoint instead of the indicator included with the kit.

I just investigated this same thing, however my search ended when I came across a thread that indicated adding neutralizer until a pH of
8.2 is reached is the same as trying to figure out when the solution turns purple. Much easier! This assumes, of course, that you have access to a pH meter.I think I just need an upgrade to the cheap syringe..
I have been watching the color and my PH meter.
Seems it turns pink way before the meter reads 8.
