Your post has provoked quite a discussion not only here but also in rec.crafts.winemaking.
It seems that your choice of primaries is a good one, despite some concerns raised in this thread. The material it is made from is food grade, and gets high marks for alcohol resistance. The only caveat I could find was in the FAQ; it seems that it is oxygen permeable, but as I'm sure you've realized, for a primary this isn't a bad thing.
I have no experience "breaking in" new primaries, however, I would think that it might be a good idea to leave it sit for a few days full of water.
