Just a caution on Brute

Just my two cents worth. I use HDPE food grade containers that I buy from US Plastics. If you ask to talk to a tech rep they will tell you if the container you are considering is safe for winemaking. Some of the foods that go into some of the containers they sell are things like sauerkraut, pickles etc. They also have an extensive table in their catalog which shows the chemical stability for different materials used in the manufacture of their products and the reaction to different chemicals. They have very prompt service and I have been happy with them.
