Re: Leakers

Maybe 2%. And I enjoy a few leakers. It gives me a chance to taste some early wine. You must be:

  1. Using poor quality corks.
  2. Not letting the bottles stand upright for a week or so after bottling.
  3. Boiling the corks. Tim

Never had one yet....had a "popper" when I tried using syththetic corks on a weird shaped bottle, but with expensive, cheap or inbetween, no leaks.

I do set them upright for about 3 or 4 days before putting on their sides. Heard it lets compressed air get out from corking. Not sure if old wives tail or not but most places say to put upright 2 days or so.
