Rowanberry wine

I have a batch of rowan berry wine on the go, pretty much finished. However there is a bit of a bitter aftertaste to this wine. Would filtering help remove this and which type (charcoal or other) would be better? Is there another option to either remove the bitterness or to mellow it out so that we could enjoy this?
