US Border restrictions on imported grapes from Canada

Do any home winemakers bring grapes in from Canada? I know there are American concord juice processors that bring tons of grapes from Niagara to NY every year and vice a versa from California. But can a home winemaker bring a few bushels of grapes (or juice) from Canada (Niagara) to New York or Michigan without issues?

thanks

Joe

Joe when I import grapes from the US into Canada, it is most important to have noted that the grapes were grown in the US. It is due to the regulation for agricultural products and NAFT trade agreement for free trade between Canada and the US.

For further infor on Importing from Canada to US , try calling US Customs for advice , they will direct you to the proper section of the US Agriculture department that does inspections.

I hope this helps.

if you are a United States citizen, you will find that the United States government is VERY interested in giving you a great big EXPENSIVE hassle at every chance you give it.

At least that's been my experience.

You are FAR better off being an illegal immigrant, those people tend to be left alone regardless of what they are doing.
