wild grape wine....is it worth it?

Hi

I mean if I do everything right this time, do I have any chance of hearing..."my dear, your wine is superb... must be a French grand cru...." or will I end up, as usual with a poor to mediocre wine and a blue teeth smile hehe..??

I would like to hear some encouraging words from someone how is actually good at making such a wine...

I'm also looking for a reliable recipe website...

TIA

Stef, Montreal.

Here's encouraging words - if you start with good grapes and mostly get out of the way, you'll get good wine. Now, you won't necessarily get

98 point Robert Parker specials, but for the price you'll charge for it (home winemakers can't sell their wines in Canada either, right?), no one will complain, and most will be amazed that you can make something so tasty.

Jack Keller's the best recipe website I know.

Jack has a fairly extensive section on making wine from wild grapes.

I find the hardest part is finding enough grapes. You can look far and wide, but finding 7.5 lbs of tiny little riparia grapes can be trying at times.

Ok thanks guys.

I will give it a try one more time this fall.... This summer it rained a lot here around Montreal Canada, so these wild vines will produce a lot of rotten grapes, but usually there pretty easy to find .

Thanks for Jack Keller's website I will take a good look at it

Stef.
