Working on some cider again

I have my 10 gallons of cider I was thinking about bottling.

It has been in the cool garage for months now, it is crystal clear.

The cider was made from various apples, some wild. It has a fair amount of tannin and the acid has been balanced.

The cider has been fermented dry, now I need to sweeten it.

I bought some Lactose and Malto Dextrin to sweeten it. I would also like some light carbonation, like an english cider.

I took samples of 2 glasses, and added the Lactos and MD

1/2 tps of lactose per glass seemed to make it good. The MD didn't seem to do much, nor did the powder taste sweet.

Anyone see a problem adding some Lactose and corn sugar and bottling the cider? Or is there something else I should do?

Sounds good to me. Just don't give it to anyone who may be lactose intolerant.

I plan on making a 12oz sample bottle

1tbs (.4 oz) Lactose 3 prime tabs.

In 2 weeks I will post my results

Hopfully the 1 tbs of lactose is the same as 1lb for 5 gallons

2 weeks ago I bottled 5 gallons from my 10 gallon batch.

I boiled 1 lb of lactose and 2/3 cup of corn sugar

Added this to the 5gallons in my bottling bucket. Just to be safe, I also added a 1/2 pack of dry ale yeast.

It is 2 weeks later now, and they don't apear to have much carbonation. I didn't open a bottle, but when I give them a shake, they don't seem like it.
