Yeast Hulls

Does anyone know anything about yeast hulls and should they be used on both red and white wine? I have been led to believe that they are very good at detoxifying wine.

I'm not sure what you mean by "detoxifying wine". However, yeast hulls are often added to prevent stuck fermentations. Some think this is due to the hulls providing nutrients to the wine. However, I just came across this paper describing the properties of yeast hulls in removing components that are toxic to the yeast. I suspect that's what you were driving at when you said they detoxify?
