Leinenkugel

Am I the only one who loves their Honey Weiss? And what are some opinions on the Berry Weiss? (I've had it, I just want other opinions).

Ever since I found out it is made or marketed by Miller, I stopped drinking it...

Its made at the Jacob Leinenkugel brewery in Chippewa Falls WI. Where do you get that its made by Miller? And what do you have against Miller anyway?

Perhaps you should let SABMiller know that- *they* think they own the brand.

I'd be

And so do these business sites...

Oh, the ultimate put down! What SHOULD I have been doing for the minute or 2 it took me to type "Leinenkugel" +"SABMiller" in the Google search box and then copy/paste a few links?

Miller shot your dog, did they? Leinenkugel was purchased by Miller, but Miller's essentially let them run the brewery the way they want to. Besides, who gives a shit? If the beer tastes good, and it's reasonably priced, why do you care who makes it? If it's a local business thing, a LOT of the money stays in Chippewa Falls. If it's a "Miller's a big brewery, and all their beer sucks" thing, grow up.

These are my thoughts exactly. If it's good, who cares. Anyway, it's not like Miller is owned by Al-Qaeda. They also keep thousands of honest Americans working.

I wear my Leinies shirt proudly (and tightly nowadays)

Miller pays your bills, do they? If this Glenn P. guy "gives a shit" and wants to use his $ to support businesses more to his liking, more power to him. "beds" gives great point. You might want to "grow up" and learn from his approach. Drink a beer and relax, bro.

No, actually, Miller's been a pain in my ass for years and has never given me a dime or a good quote. No, that's not quite true; the guy who does their company magazine is a pretty good guy. I hear SAB's really kicking ass and cleaning house, though, so maybe that will change. Oh, wait...you don't really care, do you? Sorry.

And if I give a rat's ass, and want to say that I think his reasoning's silly, more power to me!

Dude...It's a newsgroup. We talk. I'm perfectly relaxed, and I'm drinking a beer. I don't see anyone addressing my points, just yammering on and ignoring them, but hell, I'm used to that. No one ever plays this game by the rules.

Well-said. And, it is black and white if you kee the last clause of your sentence in mind. If the beer's good, drink it. Who cares where it came from?

While I will occasionally make purchasing decisions based on political/ethical/moral concerns - I don't shop at Wal-Mart because I deplore their business practices, but even then it's more because I think their stores and their merchandise are utter s**te - quality is far more important to me than anything. Quality should always be rewarded, regardless of source. And not rewarding quality where it appears because it comes from a big company actually only encourages the big company not to bother with quality, because they get punished for it when they do.

I reiterate: "And I make a further distinction to spend money on independent brewers first, those controlled by the big 3 second, and the big 3 never." Clearly I would drink Leinie in that situation too.

Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of uneducated beer drinkers on this newsgroup, if we only had a published voice that could adequately enlighten us!!Someone should start taking resumes....

I reiterate: "And I make a further distinction to spend money on independent brewers first, those controlled by the big 3 second, and the big 3 never." Yuengling as far as I know is NOT part of the big 3.

You state yours, I stated mine. But I'm drinking Leinie over Coors Light because I like it better.

Hey, my stuff's out there...go buy it! I come here to have fun, not work. Are you working right now?

Of course not, and I chose them because of that. But Troegs would no longer be independent if Yuengling bought them. Would they still be your darlings? I hope so, because they make good beer. That's why I drink it.
