'Beer goggles' effect explained by scientists

"Scientists believe they have worked out a formula to calculate how 'beer goggles' affect a drinker's vision", says the BBC. The formula takes account of "the level of light in the pub or club, the drinker's own eyesight and the room's smokiness". More at .

Very interesting - but the scientists have omitted to factor in "desperation" to the equation. ;-)

"The research was commissioned by eyecare firm Bausch & Lomb PureVision", hmm...

Personally I don't believe the beer goggles effect actually exists. It's just that ugly people can't take their drink and go home, leaving only very attractive people (including me) there at chucking out time. The reason we all look so much worse the next morning is the hangover :-)
