Joris The answer in english (english newsgroup) Off course I visit these sites very often However I refuse to rate the tasted beers because I dont think my opinion is the only right opinion. Sometimes it depends on your own mood, what you had to eat before drinking a beer and losts of other things. And of courde my own taste did devellop during the years. There were beers I didnt like 20 years ago and love nowdays This is the main reason why I wont participate in rating beers The other is because I believe everyboddy should try new beers and make out only for themselves which beers they like or not. Taste is a very personal thing

OK - let's spell it outright. That taste is a purely personal matter is an irrefutable truth. That tastes develop during one's life, and mature acquiring experience, is as much true as the first statement.. Only very inexperienced tasters on RB, BA or the other rating sites think that if they write down a rating, it will establish an objective judgement valuable for anybody else, and will stand out the test of time forever. But the force of those sites is the AMALGAM of the different ratings of several, even as many raters as possible - not in the "best of" and other statistic curiosities, but as in a full a review as possible, what one could think and say about a given beer. Even a very inexperienced rater might remark something in a beer that you or me might have missed all those years. The info is all there, it is yours to use, to distill from it what is useful to you. But that is exactly my bone of contention with your periodical advertisements for your own site. The fact that H. Pinkster, or J. Pattyn for that matter, has managed to add another 50 beers to what he's drunk, or to his personal collection book of labels, doesn't add any bit of info useful to anybody but ourselves. I'm trying to keep a digital record of what I've had by now myself, but that remains in a file on my PC. What is the point in telling anybody else of "hey, look at what I have done, am I not the top guy?". And yes, I'm not into blogging neither.

Well, I'm sorry but I cant do anything with your reaction Its your opinion. I get very much positive reactions after each update en lots of visitorS at my site. They dont seem to have a problem with the fact my site doesnt have a official standing or whatever I'm not busy to let people get the idea I'm mister wonderfull or something like that. Thats totaly your comment. Why I want to share it with other people is totaly my responsibility If you dont want to do anything with my anouncements feel free to ignore them. Thats ok with me.
