I'm not sure absinthe has anything to do with beer unless you're into boilermakers. But wrote: OT: Hey, absinthe is legal again in the USA. I wonder if the Old Absinthe House in NOLA will step up?



Did Old Absinthe House ever serve absinthe? Did it survive the hurricanes? When did it come legal to make/serve absinthe in the US?



In 1964, I purshased a bottle of Absinthe in Europe, declared it upon entry, and gave it to my father. He waited until his 60th birthday in '79 to open it and called me to complain it didn't get him turned on. I replied "That happens to old geisers."

I wrote a while back that Lucid Absinthe had been approved for sale in the US, but there were no details available on precisely why it had been approved, and what the actual thujone content of the product is. More information has come to light, which includes good news for all you American lovers of absinthe.

Ogden Nash of "Candy's dandy, but liquor's quicker" fame also quipped "Absinthe is better than abstenence." And now you say it does not work?
