Beer ordering online within EU

Mar 16, 2006 5 Replies

Hi!

Any good online stores delivering to the EU? I know that's illegal, but it would be worth a shot. All the stores seem to be located in usa, and it's stupid to order a Belgian or English beer from the states.

I'm looking for one shipping to Finland and/or Poland.

Why should it be illegal? Some countries might require you to pay a customs fee, but delivery of alcohol is generally not prohibited in europe as far as I know.

I had quite good experience with Beermania.be, but there are others as well...

cheers Jonas

Jonas is right (as usual). There's nothing illegal to it. Until prices became too high, I've had beer brought over from Germany monthly. Joris

Well..it's not exactly "free movement of goods" if you have to pay customs inside the EU. And it is frowned upon by the local authorieties in many countries, especially the new ones and the nordic ones. It's ok to bring stuff, but not to order it online.

How? Where? I didn't manage to find any using google, could you give me some addresses? Thanks for that one!

I've used them 3 times and the service was excellent.

Terrible prices! If a shop is in belgium, where the pauwel kwak costs

1,10-1,20e a bottle, why do they charge 3,6e for it? I mean, it's cheaper to just take the plane. Ok; I'll refine the question: are there any beer stores that would sell beer at normal prices and ship to the EU?

If we look at the electronic sector you can always find a good alternative online. If a camera costs 300, you get it online of 230-330. But no-one would pay 900 for it like with the beers in this place!

I know there are some stores in Estonia which ships for the same price as the local store, but they have mostly estonian and finnish beer. Unfortunately they are spammers so I won't promote their page here :\
