Im not sure if this is the right group for this question but i will give it a go anyway.
Has anyone ever come across huge beer glasses like the ones in the picture 'Terrasse de cafe'?
If so do you know of any online retailers that sell them? I am looking to get one for a friend (and also pick one up for myself) but i have not been able to find anything remotely like them.

Sure, they're real. Last time I saw 'em was a bar in Denver after the big beer show. I'm sure lots of people used those glasses 'cause the place was packed with show attendees. Forget the name of the place, but it the western themed tavern with the jackalopes mounted on either side of the backbar.
We tried to get some of those glasses for our Labor Day picnic, but, as usual, they were on back-order and we didn't want to do business with the French anyway (but we can't remember *why* we're boycotting them anymore...).
This is a real photo, real glasses, unretouched.. I have seen them before... Photoshop was not around in 1971
OK, I'm dying to ask. Why would someone want to put that much beer in one glass and then attempt to hoist it.
LOL! I hear that. I once drank from a yard glass and balancing that sucker was no easy task.
