Is there life in this group?

It does appear than this group is on its last legs.

Does anyone have any recommendations for any forums (fori?) dealing with beer related matters?

Thanks for that, Pat. But don't assume my first name is Miles! You're close, though.

There is always the CAMRA forum:

But a lot of discussion seems to have shifted to the comments on the various beer blogs:

Still people like me around :-)

I read this newsgroup regularly although I don't post a lot. Getting on a bit and don't visit pubs like I used to :-(

Still *very* interested in real ale and *proper* pubs. I brew my own these days.

Lets keep this newsgroup alive .... please.

Indeed, a bit of the same here.

My local club, Kirkheaton Conservative Club, tried the real ale route but there weren't really enough people to keep it rolling over and they threw quite a lot down the drain, sad but not opening lunch times didn't help, at least they tried.

The pub next door which suffered from many midnight flits and a reputation for the gathering place of the village idiots closed down a few months ago, it's since re-opened as a real ale pub, they claim to have 7 ales, a bit ambitious for this village, 3 seems to me to be sensible, I've yet to visit but I wish them well.

The pub is called the 'Yeaton Cask', formally the 'Junction', pity they got the village dialect name wrong, it should be Yetton or Yeton, they've taken a bit of stick about that, still good luck to them, no brewery ties but still a brave move.

Don't be foled by the lack of posts. I suspect that many, like myself like to lurk and dip in and out of the NG without feeling the need to post. Lots of good info. And yes, it is appreciated. Cheers.

BUGGER! Now I've gone and posted something!!
