Jupiler: Help me evaluate...

A friend gave me a 0.75 l bottle of "Jupiler",

"BREWED AND BOTTLED IN BELGIUM", but, uh, I'm not so sure it's a fine bottle of beer. Upon first inspection, the bottle is nondescript and has a plastic twist off cap.

Now for the evaluation:

The bottle is slightly chilled, the cap is removed, and an oxidized aroma fills the air. I pour a glass and the appearance is that of a bud/miller/coors. The flavor reminds me of Schafer Lite/Light.

On the label is "

", which is a sports site, not the brewery website which is listed above. I'm guessing that this is an inexpensive beer targeted to sports fans in Belgium and is not overly concerned about quality or taste.

Can anyone help me tune my tasting skills and give an opinion on Jupiler?

Jupiler is one of the best standard macro pale lager beers I have ever had. Get a good pint of it on tap in Belgium and it is really very enjoyable. It is the most popular beer in Belgium. Maybe you got a dodgy one?
