price of a U.K. pint

Based on a recent visit, i'd say between 2.50 and 3 pounds

As someone who works in London, I would agree on £2.50 to £3.00 a pint.

There are some great drinking locations in London but it is getting damn expensive to go on big drinking sessions these days!

Hm. Shame, that, as when I was there recently I never paid more than £2.50 for a good cask pint anywhere. Sam Smith's at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, for example, was under £2, and Fullers beers at the Churchill Arms in Kensington were all under £2.50. Lord Moon of the Mall in Whitehall and the Market Porter served several casked beers varying from £2 to £2.50 as well. Maybe they were expensive at the White Horse in Parsons Green, as I didn't look at the bill there. But the eight or nine pubs I did go to, throughout London except the really touristy areas, served cask pints at £2.50 or less.

I would venture that you're talking about eurolagers on regular draft?

Original poster asked for price of a pint of bitter, which on average I find to be about 2.50 -3 quid a pint which is not to say that it can't be found for somewhat less in some pubs.

That's fine. You live and work there (or thereabouts), I've been exactly once. It does seem to imply that I got incredibly lucky and missed all the pubs serving a pint for over £3. I believe I strayed from the CAMRA Guide twice in about 11 pubs, so perhaps the original poster needs to stick to the Guide to get inexpensive pints.

I'm under the impression that the trendier pubs in touristy areas with real ale probably charge the three-plus pound rate.
