Price of beer in Your town/city ? (Real life price comparison)

Well, sure, that's nice of him but does he deserve "Kudos"? (Where is "Kudos" from, anyway? Isn't that one of those new Eastern European imports?) Weren't we all suspcious of him in the beginning, when he started his comment with, "I don't drink beer but..." THAT didn't set off the alarms? Geez, it's not hard for a non-beer drinker to be reasonable and level headed.

Well, had a bit more time and patience to try to find some (it being kinda cold outside today, stayed in the whole day), searched for price of beer and price comparison. These are the ones I came up with, if anyone else is interested: (easily found with google of course and I only looked 4-20 pages with different searches so there well can be better lists, also it seems google does not always list the whole thread of posts but kinda cuts it in smaller pieces, i did not bother to write the prices up as they are from different years so the prices may have changed, also as they are in different currencies/amounts of beer, would have taken quite a lot of time to do so and am actually rather lazy)

about the price in united kingdom and pubs having to close (here -so not uk-, at the same time, drinking has increased but people have been going less 'out' to drink - apparently because of the higher prices, one can see it with own eyes too, no queues even on new years eve anymore, state wants to kill social life - and is succeeding well, considering that there are less baby births/woman every year, as women stay inside they do not meet men and even if men go out, there is not a woman on sight)

apparently they are not aware of each others' beer prices in those two countries (all the more reason to tell others the prices, not too many answers here or in those former posts that have asked the same (in alt.beer only) -maybe someone gets a job offer but decides its wiser to decline if some place has expensive beer as expensive beer=worse or no night life (and for single people, less possibility of meeting a mate=here, they said in news, 25% of women who are 35 yo still have no children at all, i sincerely believe a country can actually commit mass-suicide if it has too expensive beer and of such towns, cities, states, countries, one better stay away from)

russians show good example by considering beer to be a soft drink (i used to live in a place where one could go buy smuggled (from russia) beer for half the price of what it cost in supermarket, alas, everytime i went to see if they had any, it was sold out (and then too many knew about it and 'they' started to not like the entrepreneurs who brought it - like, state, wants to pocket the money it gets from too high taxes, no matter what happens to people to whom beer is too expensive)

12-pack of 4.5alc beer 1/3 liter bottles, in towns with lidl, about 12 euros for 12-pack and in lidl, 5.39 for 6-pack (alas, for me, nearest one is a bit too far away, they put their stores so that people have to drive to them and in finland i suppose there is maybe least cars in european union per capita - at least they are the oldest, because of high taxes, and, being out of work, i had to sell mine, as could not afford to drive it anymore - as they compete with price, i wonder if they did not do enough market research, when locating the shops so, at least in this town, maybe would have been better with more but smaller and more centrally located shops, people with least money have to pay most for food here as local small shops are the most expensive and in towns there truly are people with no cars, house i live in is an apartment house with maybe 30 apartments, yet (though this is probably an extreme example) there usually is only maybe 10 cars in the parking lot - in summer time sometimes none as those with cars apparently have summer cottages or summer houses, happily i am about to move (to look for work) and will try to select a better place next time ;)

So, the price of beer varies. I suppose with it, also the happiness of the people in a given place. I would like to add ;) - but that would not be so accurate, actually I'm a bit :( for all the people who have to live with expensive beer. Some places they have relatively cheap other drinks - often with a lot higher alcohol content. Some places also other drinks are expensive. Yet, for me, only the price of beer is of interest as I don't drink much else (in drinks that contain alcohol)

Actually, a decent Gigolo is hard to find and one would need to pay quite a lot for one. So renting services - really, thats the other way around.

As for price of beer and the list with several countries' taxes, I wonder if the Canadians too have a huge drug problem ? In Europe, Oslo is probably the most expensive town for beer and they have most deaths due to overdoses in Europe. Maybe Switzerland has expensive beer too but at least they are close to cheaper countries. Also people say that moonshine is legal to make at home there, but dont know about that as I never been there myself, my friend worked there though, had enough pay to buy beer for the high prices but then his employer stopped paying him, claiming he was of wring origin to get pay, he never got his money and made me swear never to go work there.
