}That's right. I've been accused of being a Troll (cute but a Troll }nonetheless) just because I said I like Budweiser beer. Ohhhhhhhhhh so I am }required to choose what I like from YOUR list otherwise I'm a Troll???? }That is totally ridiculous. In fact, wait a minute and I'm gonna get }another Bud right now. In fact, I think I'm gonna stay home from work }tomorrow and starting at 12:01 (I never drink before 12 noon) I'm gonna }drink cold Bud all day long while the rest of the saps are slaving away at }jobs they hate. } }I like Bud and I'm proud of it. It is the #1 selling beer for a reason and }that is because it is good. People are being hoodwinked with foreign beers. }They cost no more to make and some taste absolutely vile but I see poor }schlubs smacking their lips and oozing about characteristics that are all in }their minds. } }Bud is for me and if it's for you stand up here and give your opinion.
Hi there, Jimmy. I know this is a month-old post, but hey, I've been gone for a while and this is too good to pass up.
I like Bud, and I'm proud of it, too.
But let's put things in perspective: I also like Paulaner, Boon, Traquair House, Sierra Nevada, and about 3-400 other imported, domestic micro, and megabrewed beers. Each has its place.
Bud is a pretty good example of a quality American Light Lager, and when I want an ALL, Bus is what I'm likely to reach for. But when I want an Oktoberfest, or a Lambic, or an India Pale Ale, well Bud's not any of those things. I mean hey -- you might like both chocolate and lemon drops, but when you want lemon drops you don't reach for a Hershey's bar, right?
As far as Bud being the #1 selling beer, yes, it's partly due to quality control -- about 10%. The other 90% is due to a multi-million dollar advertising campaign, pure and simple.
Now there's nothing inherently wrong with advertising, but like I say, it's good to put things into perspective.
Na zdrowie!
