Stop the debating, the top 30 beer brands are about to be announced. Every year the Wine and Spirit ranks the 30 fastest growing beer brands.
The results of this years fastest growing beer brands will be released later this month.
The top five performers of 2006 were:
Newcastle Brown Ale Modelo Especial Samuel Adams Seasonal Blue Moon Stella Artois
I wouldn't be surprised to see Stella even higher this year. Everywhere I look lately I see people drinking that swill. It's a wonderful scam - selling what is essentially stale Budweiser for $6.00 a glass in bars.
There's a "debate" about the "Top 30 beer brands"? Where? Who cares- other than retailers/wholesalers?
Seems to me "debate" should be based on one's opinion of a beer's taste and not factual things like sales figures, and in this case, it's not EVEN the best selling brands, but the "fastest growing" brands. While it might be interesting to know, I find it kind of depressing that, say, Mexican beers now make up more than 40% of all beer imports into the US...

Who cares. Fastest growing does not equate to "best" or "top" in any way other than, well, fastest growing.

As long as we realize who is writing the article and more importantly don't confuse percentage growth in sales with a grading of good taste then the article is fine.
